A simple barrel cactus with a single yellow flower in bloom; representing Arizona's Sonoran Desert, this original art botanical is painted in my signature vintage inspired botany style based on scientific illustration. Born and raised in Arizona, I have a deep fondness for cacti. The Sonoran Desert blooms around February or March, bursting with an endless color spectrum of cactus flowers. They range from deep purples of plate cactus, bright yellow and oranges of the short barrel cactus, to the flawless white of the giant Saguaro.
